How to clean suede shoes

Suede is a type of leather that is characterized by a fuzzy, napped finish. This kind of leather is mostly used in making items like purses, shoes, jackets, and furniture. Suede leather comes from the underside of an animal’s skin which is a lot softer and pliable as compared to the outer layer of skin.

Even though it is softer and cozier, suede leather is not as durable as compared to other leathers and doesn’t last long, especially if it is not taken care of. Cleaning suede leather is not a difficult task, and we will elaborate on just how you can do it in this article. In this article, we will tell you how to clean suede shoes at home with the help of Whites Pearl products. Let’s begin!

Step-by-Step Cleaning Guide – How to Clean Suede Shoes?

Step 1: Dust Away Debris and Loose Dust

The first step to cleaning your suede shoes involves dusting away any loose dust or debris covering its surface. For this purpose, you will need a soft microfiber cloth. Gently dust the surface of the suede to remove dust. Make sure to not rub the surface of the leather and get all the crevices and cracks. Once you are satisfied with your dusting, it’s time to move on to the next step.

Step 2: Clean the Shoes with Whites Pearl Leather Cleaner and Conditioner

How to condition Suede Shoes

Step two is to thoroughly clean your shoes with Whites Pearl Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. Whites Pearl Leather Cleaner and Conditioner effectively removes stains, restoring the appearance and allure of your leather. When cleaning, you can either spray Whites Pearl Leather Cleaner and Conditioner directly on the leather or spray it on a microfiber cloth and then use that cloth to gently clean the leather surface. Once you have thoroughly cleaned your shoes, allow them to dry naturally for a few hours, before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Apply Whites Pearl Leather Conditioner

Once your leather is dry, you can move on to the next step and start conditioning. A leather conditioner restores the suppleness of leather and enhances its appearance. To apply the conditioner, take a small amount of it on a soft, lint-free cloth, and gently massage it on the surface of the leather. Cover the entire surface with the conditioner and then leave out to dry naturally for 2 to 24 hours.

Step 4: Apply Whites Pearl Leather Protectant

Spray leather protectant

Once your conditioner is dry, you will apply the last layer of defense to your suede shoes and that is Whites Pearl Leather Protectant. Whites Pearl Leather Protector is a leather protection spray that keeps it safe from harmful atmospheric elements. You can apply the protector by directly spraying an even layer of it on the suede shoes. Once applied, leave the shoes to dry naturally.
